When it comes to purchasing aluminum casement windows, one of the crucial aspects that customers often consider is the warranty on the glass. As a supplier of aluminum casement windows, I understand the significance of this factor and am here to shed light on the matter.
Understanding Aluminum Casement Windows
Aluminum casement windows are a popular choice in the construction and home improvement industry. They offer several advantages, including durability, energy efficiency, and a sleek modern appearance. These windows are hinged on the side and open outward, providing excellent ventilation and unobstructed views.
The glass used in aluminum casement windows is a vital component. It not only contributes to the aesthetic appeal but also plays a significant role in insulation, noise reduction, and safety. High - quality glass can enhance the overall performance of the window, making it more energy - efficient and comfortable for the occupants.
Warranty on the Glass
Most reputable aluminum casement window suppliers, including us, offer a warranty on the glass. The length and terms of the warranty can vary, but generally, it provides coverage against defects in materials and workmanship.
1. Defects in Materials
If there are any inherent flaws in the glass material, such as bubbles, inclusions, or improper tinting, the warranty will typically cover the replacement of the glass. For example, if a customer notices a large bubble in the glass that was not visible during the installation, they can contact us within the warranty period, and we will arrange for the replacement of the defective glass.
2. Workmanship Defects
Workmanship - related issues include problems with the installation of the glass in the window frame. This could involve improper sealing, which may lead to water leakage or air infiltration. Our warranty ensures that if such issues arise due to faulty installation by our team, we will take responsibility and rectify the problem at no additional cost to the customer.
The duration of the glass warranty can range from 5 to 25 years, depending on the quality of the glass and the specific product line. Higher - end products often come with longer warranties, reflecting the confidence of the manufacturer in the durability of the glass.
Factors Affecting the Warranty
Several factors can influence the validity and scope of the glass warranty:
1. Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the warranty to remain valid. If the windows are not installed according to the manufacturer's guidelines, it can void the warranty. For instance, if a customer hires an unqualified installer who does not follow the correct procedures for sealing the glass, any subsequent problems may not be covered by the warranty.
2. Maintenance
Regular maintenance is also a key factor. Customers are expected to follow the recommended maintenance procedures, such as cleaning the glass with appropriate products and inspecting the seals periodically. Failure to maintain the windows properly can lead to issues that may not be covered by the warranty. For example, if a customer uses abrasive cleaners that damage the glass coating, the warranty may not apply to the resulting damage.
3. External Factors
External factors like natural disasters (e.g., hurricanes, earthquakes) or vandalism are generally not covered by the standard glass warranty. However, some suppliers may offer additional insurance options to cover such events for an extra fee.
Comparison with Other Window Types
When comparing aluminum casement windows with other types of windows, such as Aluminum Clad Casement Windows, Flush Aluminium Windows, and Flush Upvc Windows, the glass warranty policies can vary.
Aluminum clad casement windows combine the strength of aluminum with the aesthetic appeal of wood. The glass warranty for these windows is often similar to that of standard aluminum casement windows, but the overall warranty may also cover the cladding material.
Flush aluminium windows and flush upvc windows have their own unique features. Flush aluminium windows offer a modern and minimalist look, while flush upvc windows are known for their energy - efficiency. The glass warranty for these window types will depend on the manufacturer, but in general, it follows similar principles as aluminum casement windows.
